“Trial apprenticeship” – 3rd Traun Juggling Convention

(starting Thursday at 2 p.m., closing Sunday at 2 p.m.)

Where?

Hautpschule NMS Traun, Schulstraße 11, 4050 Traun

Traun is located in Upper Austria, about 10 km south-southwest of Linz. At the jugglers’ disposal there are two gyms, a sports field, a hard court and a playing ground.

How to get there?

By train:

Take the Westbahnstrecke (one of Austria’s main railway lines which connects e.g. Salzburg and Vienna) to Hauptbahnhof (= central train station) Linz. Take Tram 4 in direction Schloß Traun, or from the Busterminal close to the Hauptbahnhof Linz bus 618 (Bus operator Wilhelm Welser) in direction Rutzing. In both cases get off at stop Traun Hauptplatz and take a walk of approximately 540 m to the Hauptschule NMS Traun. (See the map at the convention’s homepage.)

By car:

Take the autoroute A1 (SalzburgVienna) to Linz. Leave it at exit 174-Traun in direction Traun. Follow Salzburgerstraße to Kremstalstraße (B139). Turn right and follow Kremstalstraße and after the roundabout in same direction Traunuferstraße. At Fabrikstraße turn right and at Dr. Feursteinstraße turn left. Follow it and subsequently Tischlerstraße to Schulstraße.

There is place for your tent or caravan on the convention site. You will find bath and rest rooms in the school building.

Breakfast will be provided on site.
Supermarkets are nearby (approximately 200 m), restaurants, inns and fast food as well.

Festival program:

Free juggling, workshops, party, open stage and fashion show (present your oldest, most widely travelled, or otherwise interesting juggling t-shirt)(Friday), games (Sunday) etc.
Special show (Saturday): Michael Zandl & Tom Henden: “Janus” (directed by Matthias Romir)

Adults and juveniles older than 14 years:

Thu–Sun: EUR 40,– (EUR 35,– if preregistered)
Fri–Sun: EUR 30,– (EUR 27,– if preregistered)
Day ticket: EUR 18,–

Children 7–14 years:

Thu–Sun: EUR 28,– (EUR 25,– if preregistered)
Fri–Sun: EUR 20,– (EUR 18,– if preregistered)
Day ticket: EUR 14,–

Children up to 6 years:

Free admission

Fee includes: breakfast, overnight stay, access to the whole convention area (gyms included)

Jonglierfabrik Oberösterreich, one of the oldest juggling communities in Austria. Organises a weekly juggling meeting in Traun since years and from time to time show projects, e.g. “Es fliegt, es fliegt” (2005) and “Einfach aus der Luft gegriffen” (2009).
